More discussion of IM vs. web-based chat software

Luke Rosenberger posted a thoughtful analysis of the article on IM and web-based chat software that was published in the July/August issue of Online (see my post earlier today for details on the article and why I am not ready to dump our library's web-based chat software). I'm posting this message from the reference desk (it's a slow summer Friday) and will have to wait a while before I can chime in on Luke's response.
